Pluto in Aquarius: Innovation Under Fire with AI-Generated Imagery

Another major moment of 2023: Pluto is changing signs for the first time since 2008. It'll only be here for a shortish time, but it's a first taste of what's to come for years to come starting in 2024.

After vividly and unflinchingly showing us the weak spots of capitalism and democracy (aka the structures that many of us rely on to live in a just and healthy society), Pluto is drumming up a new shadow for us to battle.

Pluto in Aquarius will have us confront our societal use of and reliance on technology. As tools like ChatGPT and DALL-E crop up, it's very clear that we as a society are not ready to address the many benefits and challenges and violations that come with this new advances. And the change is only just now starting. Humans cannot process change at the speed in which it is happening.

Aquarius rules technology, innovation, the airwaves, and even space itself. All of these areas are rife for disruption. But it isn't just the technology being disrupted, It's life as we know it.

Be okay with questioning change. Be okay with not jumping on the bandwagon or going all in on the next big change. Pluto reminds us that there is a shadow side to advancement.

Pluto was last in Aquarius between 1778 and 1798. During this time, the US ratified the Constitution, the Qing dynasty reached its peak in an expanding China, the French Revolution raged, the Haitian Revolution raged, and the Industrial Revolution accelerated in the US/UK, and the NYSE was founded.

Pluto will be in Aquarius for a brief preview from March 23, 2023 until June 11, 2023. It will re-enter Aquarius in late January 2024 and remain there until 2044.
